Hello,
My name is Tina W. and I am a domestic violence survivor. My abuser made national headlines in 1999 in North Carolina. The abuse that PETA (The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) videotaped undercover was atrocious. His actions were shown to Congress by renowned animal lover and Hollywood star, James Cromwell, in the attempt to strengthen laws protecting farm animals. Although I applaud Mr. Cromwell and PETA for their actions, I was extremely saddened that there is no organization like that for the protection of victims of abuse, or at least none that I had heard of.
When Raymond Sanchez was put in jail for this I made my escape. I changed my name, moved thousands of miles away and never looked back. Essentially, James Cromwell saved mine and my son's life. I doubt that Mr. Cromwell knows just how important his and PETA's actions were to me.
My son from my marriage with that monster has never had a normal life. He has been home schooled, never allowed to play any organized sports or even live in one place more than a year. We have moved 17 times in the last 12 years. The guilt I feel everyday for him and my other children (I have since remarried and have two wonderful children) is overwhelming. I spend every second of every day diligently protecting my children. I am constantly on the look out for anyone or anything out of the ordinary. To say I am paranoid is an understatement.
Some of you may say that I am crazy. So I invite you to watch the video of the monster I am running from. Then maybe you will see that what I do is not crazy, but a necessity. Here is the URL on you tube to the video James Cromwell and PETA made, be warned these images are extremely graphic and is NOT suitable for children!

This is my first post but will be by no means my last. I would like to share with anyone interested the life I escaped from and the one my family now leads.
Thank you for sharing in my healing process.
